VIRTUAL Governance Symposium
The Critical Chemistry and Multiple Partnerships of a Successful Head and Board:

How to build and sustain a new partnership in challenging and stressful times
October 5, 2020  |  11:00AM - 1:00PM

The tried and true theme of the Chair/Head Partnership is as necessary as ever. This workshop will focus on key themes and real school case studies that demonstrate how a strong partnership has saved a board and school from near disaster but also scenarios in which this partnership failed in the time of crisis. We will examine why one school succeeded and another failed.
• What role did the Head play? The Chair? The Board? Key players on the Board?
• What role did the anxiety over financial health and parent demands play?
• Were those demands managed well or managed poorly?

We will examine how the partnership between the Board and Chair, the Head and Chair, and the Board and Head worked or failed. The principles of best practice, and more frequently now their absence, are on full display worldwide.
This workshop will benefit both Heads and Board Chairs.
